Household removals to the Netherlands
Whole households from anywhere in Britain to anywhere in the Netherlands, surveyed here and delivered there by the same firm.
A household move to the Netherlands is a short journey with a long paperwork tail. The driving is the easy part; what decides whether it goes well is the inventory, the documents and what happens at the Dutch front door.
What the job includes
- A free survey — video call for most homes, in person for larger houses
- Packing: full, part, or fragile-only, priced separately
- A detailed inventory, which doubles as the customs packing list
- The customs file prepared and submitted, with your part of it explained at the start
- The crossing and the run, on a dedicated vehicle or as a part load
- Delivery room by room, with protection fitted at both ends
The inventory does two jobs
On a domestic move an inventory is a convenience. On a customs movement it is the document the whole crossing rests on: it has to describe what is actually in each carton, in the form Dutch customs expect, and it has to match what is on the vehicle.
That is why we build it at survey and why owner-packed cartons need a proper list rather than "kitchen stuff" written on the side.
The Dutch front door
Older centres in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Haarlem and Leiden have narrow frontages and stairs built before furniture got wide. The normal answer is the building's hoist beam or an external furniture lift, arranged in advance and quoted specifically. Newer blocks in the Randstad and most housing outside the old centres are entirely straightforward.
Getting a quote
Both addresses, rough dates, a sense of the volume, and whether a part load is an option. See full loads, part loads and the customs page.
Move questions
What is included?
Survey, packing if you want it, the customs file prepared from the inventory, the crossing, the run, and delivery room by room at the far end.
Do you use a Dutch partner for delivery?
Our own crew travels with the load on a dedicated vehicle. On a part load a partner may handle a leg, and where that is the case we say so before you book rather than after.
How long does it take?
Route, crossing and consolidation decide it, and the written quote gives an expected window. We do not publish day counts we cannot guarantee.
What makes a Dutch delivery unusual?
The buildings. Steep narrow stairs in older centres, lifts that take people rather than wardrobes, and the everyday use of an external hoist for upper floors.
Can you handle a two-address collection?
Yes — a house plus a storage unit, or two households merging. Mention both so the route is costed from the start.
Moving to the Netherlands?
Send both addresses, rough dates and a sense of the volume. We survey, prepare the customs file and quote in writing.
