Part loads to the Netherlands
Your goods share a vehicle with another move going the same way — lower cost, a delivery window rather than a named day.
Not every move to the Netherlands fills a lorry. A part load is the sensible answer for a flat's worth of furniture, a student's belongings, a room of things following someone who has already moved, or a household that has downsized on the way.
How it works
Your goods are collected, wrapped and inventoried exactly as they would be on a dedicated move, then loaded alongside other consignments travelling the same route. You pay for the space your goods occupy.
The trade-off, stated plainly
- A delivery window rather than a named day, because the vehicle serves several moves
- More handlings, because consignments are loaded and separated at each stop
- Lower cost, which is the whole point
If you have pieces you would genuinely mind losing or scuffing, the handling count is a real argument for a full load, and we would rather make that argument than take the booking quietly.
Customs is unchanged
A part load does not simplify or complicate the paperwork: the customs file is prepared per household. Your inventory, your Transfer-of-Residence documents, your declaration. See the customs page.
What we need to know
A list of what is coming, both addresses, and how flexible your dates are. Flexibility is what makes a part load cheap.
Part-load questions
What is a part load?
Your goods travel with other consignments heading for the Netherlands. You pay for the space you use rather than the whole vehicle.
What is the trade-off?
A delivery window instead of a named day, and more handlings along the route. Both are real and both are worth stating before you book.
Is it secure?
Goods are wrapped, inventoried and separated within the vehicle. The inventory is checked at both ends.
How small is too small?
Nothing is too small — a few cartons and a bicycle is ordinary work. Above roughly a well-filled one-bedroom flat, a full load usually starts making more sense.
Does customs work the same way?
Yes. The customs file is per household, not per vehicle, so your Transfer-of-Residence paperwork is prepared exactly as it would be on a dedicated load.
Only a flat'\''s worth to move?
Send a list of what is coming and how flexible your dates are. Flexibility is what makes a part load cheap.
